Can a plot of soil become a sanctuary? What happens when a faith community defines itself not by the walls of a building, but by the expansiveness of its welcome and its connection to the earth?

This semester, LCM is hosting a weekly book study on Anna Woofenden's This Is God’s Table. The book chronicles an audacious journey to plant a "Garden Church," that is a unique community rooted at the intersection of agriculture, ecology, social justice, and deep Christian faith. It’s a place where the housed and unhoused, the young and the old, the curious and the committed all gather to grow food and be fed.

At UMN Morris, stewardship of the earth and intentional community aren’t side projects, they are foundational to how we live out our faith. This study is designed for anyone asking big questions about how environmental sustainability, radical inclusion, and spiritual renewal intersect on our campus and in our world through the use of an inspiring and easy to read memoir.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener, a climate advocate, a spiritual seeker, or someone simply looking for a grounded space to find deeper meaning, identity, community, and enrichment, your voice is needed.
